Some thoughts on democracy

The recent election for the position of Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for the “Devon and Cornwall Police Area” was not a good advert for democracy. A total of 82,011 people voted – a turnout of only 18.8% – which I must admit was higher than predicted by many people, myself included. Wales and Scotland / Cornwall next?

25 years ago today, the first elections to the National Assembly for Wales (now Senedd Cymru) and the Scottish Parliament were held. The campaign for a Cornish Parliament continues. International Workers’ Day

At the last meeting of MK’s National Executive, party representatives expressed solidarity with all those striving to protect working people and ensure that their working conditions are safe and secure.
