Mebyon Kernow would like to extend congratulations to Gwenno Saunders, whose Cornish language album “Tresor” was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize. Indeed, it has been confirmed that her album is the first non-English language to be nominated.

MK leader Cllr Dick Cole said: “It was absolutely brilliant to see Gwenno performing ‘An Stevel Nowydh’ at the Mercury Prize awards. It is a fantastic achievement for Gwenno and simply fantastic for the profile of Cornish, which can only be great news for the further development and promotion of the language into the future.”
