Mebyon Kernow – the Party for Cornwall has marked St Piran’s Day by launching a fully bilingual version of its “Towards a Cornish Parliament” policy document.
MK’s leadership team has issued the following statement:
“Troha Senedh a Gernow / Towards a Cornish Parliament is an important document that sets out a meaningful democratic settlement for Cornwall.
“The bilingual basis of the publication emphasises that Cornwall is a historic nation with its own distinct identity and culture, which has the same right to self-determination as other Celtic nations such as Scotland and Wales.
“It also shows that there is an alternative to the UK Government’s proposed accommodations with local government in Cornwall that are presently masquerading as a so-called ‘devolution deal.’
“We commend Troha Senedh a Gernow / Towards a Cornish Parliament to the people of Cornwall as something really worth campaigning for.”
Copies of the A5 booklet can be purchased from MK. Please send a cheque for £3 (made out to Mebyon Kernow) to MK, Lanhainsworth, Fraddon Hill, Fraddon,St Columb, TR9 6PQ.
