Mebyon Kernow – the Party for Cornwall would like to announce that it will be hosting a half-day Conference on Saturday 22nd July.
The theme of the Conference is to explore what is next for the campaign to secure meaningful devolution for Cornwall. It will be an open meeting and it represents an opportunity for one and all to come together in support of a National Assembly or Cornish Parliament.
It will take place at the Shire Hall Suite in Bodmin. Doors will open at 1.00, with the actual Conference taking place between 2.00 and 5.00.
Over the next seven weeks, MK will be publicising information about the event, such as who the speakers will be and how you can feed comments into the discussions. Please look out for regular updates.
An event had originally been timetabled to take place on the weekend prior to the planned Cornwall Council meeting (25th July) at which councillors would have voted on whether to accept the so-called “devolution deal” proposed by central government. That insubstantial deal is no longer being promoted and MK’s National Executive considered it important to keep up the campaign for proper devolution for Cornwall.
