Mebyon Kernow – the Party for Cornwall has confirmed that it objects to the Conservative-run unitary authority’s intention to remove the Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre from Newquay Airport.
At the most recent meeting of MK’s National Executive (Friday 23rd September), party activists unanimously agreed to give backing to the Centre.
A statement from MK’s National Executive is as follows:
“Mebyon Kernow fully supports the desire of the Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre to remain on the Newquay Airfield site. The heritage of the airfield is extremely important and we challenge the leadership of Cornwall Council to work with the Centre to safeguard it’s future and to allow it to grow into the future.”
MK leader Cllr Dick Cole was among the councillors who challenged the Economy portfolio holder on this matter at the most recent meeting of Cornwall Council.
