A total of 20 MK councillors have been elected unopposed to town and parish councils, while eight members contested elections – seven of whom were successful.
MK put forward four candidates for Callington Town Council, where overall there were 14 candidates for 12 seats. Andrew Long topped the poll with 979 votes (59%), Mark Smith came second with 590 votes (36%), Maria Coakley came third with 564 votes (34%) while Cameron Raphael came seventh with 451 votes (27%).
Lyndon Allen stood in the four-seat Charlestown ward of St Austell Bay Parish Council. There were a total of seven candidates and he topped the poll with 130 votes (61%).
Sam Carmichael (see above) contested the four-seat Boslowick ward of Falmouth Town Council. There were seven candidates and he came fourth, polling 479 votes (29%). He outpolled a Labour activist and two members of the Falmouth Community Collective.
Donte Ragan stood in the two-seat Central ward of Redruth Town Council. There were three candidates and he came second, polling 227 votes (32%). He out-polled an independent.
Duncan Paul meanwhile contested the six-seat East ward of Penzance Town Council. There were nine candidates and Duncan came seventh, missing out on election by only six votes. He secured 403 votes (25%). He came ahead of an independent and a member of the Labour Party.
