At today’s Conference at Heartlands in Pool, MK members supported a range of motions. Party members:
- Supported the continuation of the Cornwall Fire Control Centre.
- Supported the Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre.
- Declared a food emergency, and challenged the UK Government and public bodies to work together to ensure that one and all can access good quality, affordable and nutritious food.
- Raised concerns about trail hunts in parts of Cornwall, called for better regulation and monitoring with bans for hunts that act unlawfully, and called on trail hunts to consider shifting their operations to drag hunts.
- Demanded planning controls on airbnbs and an immediate ban on residential dwellings being allowed to operate as such holiday accommodation.
- Rejected the proposal to impose a “local government mayor” on the unitary authority.
