Great news. Mebyon Kernow has won the by-election for a seat on Camborne Town Council (Treswithian Ward). Donte Spillane, a local NHS worker, out-polled a single Conservative opponent.

Well done to Donte and his team. This means that MK now has eight elected members on the town council – the most we have ever had on a local council.

The result was as follows;

Donte Spillane (MK) – 471 votes (58%) / Ben Salfield (Con) – 340 votes (42%)

Three of the four Cornwall Councillors for the town are Tories, while the largest group on the town council is MK. Hopefully this reflects a changing political dynamic in Camborne and certainly bodes well for MK for the Cornwall Council elections in May 2025.
